Visited thur 27th Feb on a day out.
Had the veg breakfast. Couldnt eat it all due to generous portion.
Meat eaters loved their traditional breakfast.
We ate upstairs. Beautiful decor. Excellent service etc.
We returned later for cakes n coffee. Sat downstairs.
Desert menu good choice
Tasted delicious.
Dog friendly.
Would definately recommend.
Great value. Certainly added to our day feel good factor.

Came as a family of 4 last Friday. Booked a table upstairs by the window, nice atmosphere, shame stove not lit. The food was niceI had Old Gate fish butty which was lovely. We had the cheese board after. The cheeses were yummy, but the biscuits weren't very nice and not enough for the price. Also I was paying, on getting yhe bill, £15 of extra items I hadn't had were on it, that was quickly rectified, but this happened last time I was in last year. Hope it's not a regular occurance, as not everyone checks their bill.

Great food, as always. We love this place and come often. HOWEVER, staff last night seemed grumpy - like they'd rather be somewhere else.
Err.... had they had a bad staff meeting that morning?

Superb Breakfast
As well as a fine array of cask ales, The Old Gate does a superb breakfast between 10 & 12 on a Sunday. Great value for money top ingredients a must for anyone in the Hebden Bridge area.

They really need to sort out a booking system for groups of four or more downstairs, we had to wait an absolute age for a table.

We had our post-wedding dinner in the Old Gate and everything was amazing, the food, the atmosphere, the service. I have been there a few more times after that and it has always been great!
